Armeria, flowering creeper

Armeria, creeping plant in flower. It is a medicinal plant species belonging to the family of plumbaginaceae. Its scientific name is Armeria maritime, although it is more commonly known as sea Clavelina, Armeria, Lawn of Spain, Gazon of Spain, grass, turf French.

This perennial plant reaches a height of 10 cm and 20 cm long, narrow leaves are dark green, resembling grass. It can be found in coastal areas of the Northern Hemisphere, especially in Europe.

It blooms in April and continues throughout the spring and summer, the flowers come together to form strands surrounded by bracts scabious and look like radio buttons, with the variety are white, pink, purple or reddish.

In the armory you like the heat, but not afraid to cold climates, outside the natural habitat is used in gardens as an ornamental plant, for covering poor and sandy soil but cover spaces between rocks.
