Snake's head fritillary (Fritillaria meleagris) surprisingly is native to this country, due to its unusual bell-shaped flowers with checked pattern on shades of purple.
There is also a very pale, almost white variety. It is perfect for the woodland garden thriving in moist conditions in partial shade although it can also grow in full sun. It is fully hardy and will grow to 30cm (1ft) tall.

In late winter, Camellia japonica 'Lavinia Maggi' give some of the best interest to the garden. They are excellent plants for containers as well as borders. http://plantas-y-flores.blogspot.com/
There is a fantastic range of varieties in shades from palest pink through to vivid red and both single and double flowers that stand out against the dark green evergreen foliage. They are best grown in ericaceous conditions which can be achieved by adding ericaceous compost when planting and giving a regular acid feed. They are relatively slow growing reaching about 1.5m (5ft) in ten years but over time can become a sizable plant.
They are relatively trouble free but must not be allowed to dry out in the autumn as the buds form for the following year otherwise they will abort. In an ericaceous border they are perfect for planting with rhododendrons and azaleas, which enjoy similar conditions.

Clematis 'The Bride' is best grown in full sun where the open pure white flowers are shown at their best but they can also be grown in partial shade.
This variety will be forming an abundance of buds ready to break into flower next month. http://plantas-y-flores.blogspot.com/
It is perfect for wall training but can also be grown as a free standing bush, it is very easy to care for and untrimmed will reach about 2½m (8ft) in ten years. In autumn its leaves turn shades of orange and yellow before the fall. It has been given an Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for its excellent qualities.

TYPES OF PLANTS BY SIZE
http://plantas-y-flores.blogspot.com/
Classification of plants according to size
Trees: These are woody-stemmed plants taller than five meters. In this case the stalks are known by the name of logs, which do not branch to a considerable height from the ground.
Shrubs: These are woody-stemmed plants that are between one and five meters high. Branching in this case begins at ground level.
Matas: These are woody-stemmed plants with sub-meter height.
Herbs: Those stems woody structures have not hardened. Their consistency is soft. (More information on herbs)

Brunnera macrophylla Jack Frost Brunnera 'Jack Frost' has been given an Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for good reason
Brunnera 'Jack Frost' has been given an Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for good reason; it produces some of the most fantastic heart-shaped silvered leaves which start to emerge in March, and during March and April an abundance of delicate small blue flowers.
It is low growing only reaching 45cm speading to make a clump around 60cm wide. As the flowers start to fade, remove the stalks to put more energy into the leaves as larger leaves are then produced. It grows best in a moist position in full sun or partial shade. Use the silver foliage to contrast with dark foliage plants such as heucheras or at the base of flowering shrubs.

Primula vulgaris, the original woodland primrose is a native of our woodlands, bringing the delightful primrose yellow to shady areas.
Many hybrids have been developed from this bringing a riot of different colours; from white through yellows, pinks to blues and purples and both in single flowers such as the original, semi-double from the primlets to fully double flowers. The original woodland varieties are fully hardy but this has been lost to many of the hybrids.
These are excellent in planted containers whilst the hardy double primroses and woodland primrose can be grown in the borders in partial shade preferring moist conditions.
