Classification of plants according to size

Trees: These are woody-stemmed plants taller than five meters. In this case the stalks are known by the name of logs, which do not branch to a considerable height from the ground.


Shrubs: These are woody-stemmed plants that are between one and five meters high. Branching in this case begins at ground level.

Matas: These are woody-stemmed plants with sub-meter height.
