Interior designer Jen Fuller takes accessorizing to another level at Willow, her new home store inHaverford Square.

With help from her business partner, floral decorator Jennifer Shue, Fuller is introducing clients to an array of succulents that bring texture to a space. http://plantas-y-flores.blogspot.com/ 

“They come in a range of colors and can transform a room,” says Fuller of her in-house designs. “Succulents are like a small slice of architecture that makes for an interesting conversation piece.”

And caring for them is fairly simple. “Keep them in direct sunlight but away from direct indoor heat. Mist them once a week,” says Fuller.

Another popular option is air plants. The intricate shapes of their leaves can make a stunning visual impact on tables and bookshelves. “Like succulents, air plants are organic and different,” Fuller says. “People like the idea of having a living thing that’s easy to maintain.”

Air plants are also low maintenance and, if properly cared for, can last up to two years. “Fake isn’t a good word,” says Fuller. “Why bring artificial plants into your home when you can easily care for something living?”
