Brunnera 'Jack Frost' has been given an Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society for good reason; it produces some of the most fantastic heart-shaped silvered leaves which start to emerge in March, and during March and April an abundance of delicate small blue flowers.
It is low growing only reaching 45cm speading to make a clump around 60cm wide. As the flowers start to fade, remove the stalks to put more energy into the leaves as larger leaves are then produced. It grows best in a moist position in full sun or partial shade. Use the silver foliage to contrast with dark foliage plants such as heucheras or at the base of flowering shrubs.
