It is perfect for wall training but can also be grown as a free standing  bush, it is very easy to care for and untrimmed will reach about 2½m (8ft) in  ten years.  In autumn its leaves turn shades of orange and yellow before the  fall.  It has been given an Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural  Society for its excellent qualities.
